Shalom Aleichem. Welcome to the weekly Parshah class of BRI, Ki Seitzei. This week is Ki Seitzei. Reb Noson, in one of his letters, writes "Ki Seitzei l'Uman" - when you go out of your comfort zone and you go to Uman. Because that's where we have to end up - Rosh Hashanah. We have to try and get there. Okay, so Parshas Ki Seitzei is a power-packed Parshah, like they all are, but why? Because there’s a lot of mitzvahs that are written in Parshas Ki Seitzei. By the way, if I’m not mistaken, it has the most mitzvahs of all the Parshas in the Torah. It just keeps on moving from mitzvah to mitzvah to mitzvah to mitzvah, and so on, right? It talks about if you go out to battle, and you give in to the yetzer hara. It talks about children, about inheritance. It talks about children who rebel against their parents. It talks about people who deserve the death penalty. It talks about people - men shouldn’t wear women’s clothes, and women shouldn’t wear men’s clothes. It talks about tzitzis. It talks about kilayim. It talks about somebody who, God forbid, rapes a girl, married or otherwise. It gives different laws. Laws of conversion - Amon and Moav - they’re forbidden to come into the nation of Israel because of their cruelties. It talks of a number of other laws. If you collect a harvest from your fields and you forget something, leave it forgotten for the poor people - charity.
