0:03 The question is, why does the Rambam not explain this [unclear]? A Torah scholar - something outstanding.
0:55 What are these tzaddikim learning? - Tractate Pesachim. If I may say a few words before this: we merited now, in our yeshiva, to complete Tractate Pesachim. The young men studied for several weeks, they reviewed what they learned during the whole year, the whole tractate, from the beginning to the end. They came to be tested by the Rav. We came to see His Honor, the Rav, the Yanuka - what things one can reach at a young age, so that our young men will see how, with toil in Torah, one can reach, and learn, and truly know the entire Torah.
1:25 That the Rav should test them, and the Rav should give them a few words of blessing. - No, but I don't know the entire Torah. I try to learn; all the time I go back to the beginning. May they be holy and pure Torah scholars. - They are ready in Tractate Pesachim, if the Rav could ask them a few questions. We ask that they stand around until the end. I told them today that Tractate Pesachim ends with the redemption of the firstborn son, right? Because the Sfas Emes once said, at the redemption of the firstborn of his grandson, that this is how the Holy One, blessed be He, fulfills the redemption of the firstborn: He takes us out of the exile.
1:55 I said to make a siyum on Tractate Pesachim during the Nine Days. In Nissan they were redeemed, in Nissan they will be redeemed in the future. It is a segulah for the geulah, that we be redeemed soon, through our righteous Mashiach. If the Rav would ask them a few questions. Stand around in a big circle. - Do you know on which page we learn about the meal time of Torah scholars?
2:37 - Page 2. - At what hour is it? - At the sixth hour. - The Rav: And the meal time of an ordinary person - at what hour? - The fourth. - Very nice. I will ask you a different question. On page 14 there is a loaf of terumah that became impure, Right?
3:04 and there is a loaf of pure terumah. Is it permitted to put them together and burn them together, or does one burn each one separately? - According to Rabbi Meir it is permitted, and according to Rabbi Yosi it is forbidden. - And what is the halachic ruling? Like Rabbi Yosi or like Rabbi Meir? Rabbi Meir - who is it that brings whose opinion?

3:28 Yes? Two. So what is the halachah - permitted or forbidden, according to Rabbi Yosi? - In the seventh hour it is permitted. - Outstanding Torah scholars, they know everything. If an animal drank the water of purification, is the meat impure after they slaughter it?
3:57 Or does it remain pure? Meat, an animal that drank the water of purification, - Or is it a dispute, or is it only the view of Rabbi Yehudah, who explains himself? - So is it impure or not? - It is impure according to Rabbi Yehudah, and it is impure with a light impurity, not a severe impurity. Or they say that it is not impure at all, because it is a spoiled liquid.
4:21 - Yes, and what does Rabbi Yehudah say? - The Erloi students: That is the view of Rabbi Yehudah: either it is impure with a light impurity, and because of that it is nullified, or it is only a spoiled liquid... so there is no severe impurity in it. And because the water in its innards was digested, - Is it because of that? - No, because it is already a repulsive liquid... - Nice, you are outstanding Torah scholars.
4:48 Which page is it - do you know which page it is, what I asked you? Yes, nice, correct, yes. What is the law of a person who gets benefit against his will? Is he permitted to benefit, or is he forbidden to benefit? - It is a dispute between Abaye and Rava. - What is Abaye's view? And what does he say? Someone who has not answered yet should answer.
5:25 - If it is not possible to avoid, and he does not intend it, it is permitted according to everyone. - And according to whose view is this? - According to Rabbi Shimon. - And what is the dispute of Abaye and Rava? Whom does Abaye hold like, whom does Rava hold like? - If it is possible to avoid and he does not intend it, according to Rabbi Yehudah it is forbidden, according to Rabbi Shimon, according to Abaye, it is permitted. - I will ask you another question.
5:54 I will ask you something a little different. Where do we see whom the Holy One, blessed be He, hates, and whom the Holy One, blessed be He, loves? Nice. What is the law of matzah: if one takes matzah that is stolen, does one fulfill the obligation with it?
6:22 - No... - On which page is this, where do we learn it from? - Page 9. 'And it shall be, when you eat...' What did they learn from 'And it shall be, when you eat'? On page 38. What did they learn from 'And it shall be, when you eat of the bread'? What did they learn from it? - That the matzah has to be ours. - So if a person, let's say, stole wheat and made matzah from it?
6:49 Does he fulfill his obligation with it, or does he not fulfill his obligation with it? - If he has bread - we said that it is stolen matzah, they learned from 'And it shall be, when you eat of the bread'. So it is stolen matzah, he does not fulfill his obligation. But if he took wheat and made matzah from it, seemingly he fulfills his obligation with it, like with a sukkah. - Very nice, there is a change here, he fulfills his obligation. Very nice. Listen, you are outstanding Torah scholars, you really remember the whole tractate like this.
7:14 Unbelievable. What is the reason one has to use a spit of pomegranate wood? On page 74 in Tractate Pesachim. What was the story with Rabban Gamliel and Tavi his servant? - That he said to him: Go... - What did they learn from him, that he said to Tavi his servant... It's a perforated grill, right?
7:41 So is it permitted or forbidden? - Permitted. - Nice, because they learned from him that it is permitted. Fortunate are you, fortunate are you, Torah scholars... You know, I will tell you: you do not know how much importance and greatness you have, that you sit like this and learn.
8:26 You are busy with the greatest and most elevated thing there is. You need to treasure every moment and every second that you sit and learn. You need to rejoice in it like one who finds great spoil, to rejoice and enjoy and delight in the learning at every time and moment, to feel the sweetness of the Torah, to feel the love for the Torah, the sweetness for the Torah. Understand that you are busy with the greatest thing, and every moment that you sit and learn you give life to thousands and tens of thousands of angels, and the Holy One, blessed be He, rejoices in you in the heavenly court.
8:57 You do not know - in this generation, the distant generation, we see so much distance. Now we are close to the Beis HaMikdash, the Holy Temple, praying that the Holy One, blessed be He, will already build it. And when the geulah comes, and the Temple is already built, and everyone already goes up to Jerusalem - one must feel this pain so much, of the destruction, as we are coming closer, and hoping so much that the Holy One, blessed be He, will redeem us, and praying for it. But you must know that you are bringing the geulah closer.
9:23 You do not know your greatness and your merit, that you are busy with Torah like this, and you are holy and pure. I can only really tell you that I have nothing to say about you. Truly, fortunate are you, Torah scholars. May you continue to rise and grow in Torah, and succeed and flourish and rise higher and higher, and bring about salvations, and may you do miracles and wonders, and may you be holy and pure.
9:48 And I also bless the tzaddik, Rabbi Turnheim, that the Holy One, blessed be He, should give him joy, give you nachas, give you salvations, that you see nachas and joy from all your offspring, that the Holy One, blessed be He, give you salvations, and help from Heaven, and a good life, and length of days and years, and all the good flow of blessing, that you succeed and accomplish all good and of all good, and that your holy yeshiva rise higher and higher, and that you be Torah scholars, and finish the entire Talmud, with Hashem's help, and learn and know that there is nothing sweeter, and there is no greater sweetness in this whole world than to merit to behold the pleasantness of Hashem and to visit His sanctuary.
10:22 All the desires - all this world comes to an end and is lost. You will cling to Hashem, and you will have fear of Heaven and kedushah. That is the thing that will bring a person to the purpose of life. For this world is vanity of vanities; only what a person merits in this world to grab - more kedushah and more Torah, more sweetness of the Torah - that is the greatest thing there is. With Hashem's help, may the Holy One, blessed be He, gladden you. Your strength to the Torah! You are outstanding geniuses.
10:47 Tzaddik, tzaddik... May you have salvations and miracles and wonders, kedushah and purity - truly outstanding tzaddikim. I was amazed by you - really something. May you succeed higher and higher. Wow, Torah scholars - you are truly outstanding Torah scholars.
11:24 - Rav, this is my oldest son. - Be holy and pure, rise higher and higher, and may you have nachas and joy from him, and all good and of all good in all matters, amen. Salvations, miracles and wonders. Ah, is this ready?
12:24 - He really, every time, reads the dedications again and again. A woman who wanted to come to the Rav, the Yanuka - and the miracle was, exactly, we wanted... we saw it came from Heaven. He wants the Rav to [unclear] the answer. - Who wrote this? - She is the secretary of the doctor of the Erloi Rebbe.
12:51 She told him that she wants to come to the Yanuka. So the gabbai said: how will I get there? So the Rav said: it will happen. He now has erysipelas, the Rav. So from Heaven it came out this way. - How did you say? - The Rebbe, Rabbi Moshe ben Miriam. When he stood on his leg, she helped him.
13:17 That is our request. - Nice. May the Holy One, blessed be He, also give the Rebbe a healing from Heaven. May the Rebbe succeed and have a long and good life, and may he have a complete healing; length of days in her right hand, in her left riches and honor. And may Hashem, blessed be He, bless [unclear], and may Hashem, blessed be He, heal her and send her a complete healing from Heaven, That is to say, tell her, Tell her, about the daughter: to give a lot, a lot, a lot... of very great love, really, really with patience and forbearance, and to be careful with her, really with her soul, really like a glass vessel.
14:01 Tell her these words of mine like this. May there be good tidings, good ones. Hashem should give you salvations and help from Heaven, nachas from the children, good flow of blessing, that you succeed and accomplish all good and of all good. You are also their Rav, right?
