Because he speaks Torah from the world... of Yesod, and they are from Malchus. And they do not understand him, so they reason: since they do not understand him - 'we know that we are the tzaddikim of the generation, presumably; we are the roots of the souls of Israel.' That it is possible that you do not understand someone because he is higher than you, and his Torah and his attainment are higher than all of you - that is why you do not understand him.
