The day of the first for and the mitzvah is that day. Now, there happens to be a law law that says that a day in Judaism begins the evening before. But when is the main holiday? The main holiday, unless it's expressly uh uh brought down in the Torah to delineate otherwise, the holiday is the day. The night before is just the beginning of that day.
