So good morning. Let me begin with the para for the week. This week's para is the second week of the book of Exodus. It's called va which means I appeared. It begins with Hashem telling Moshe. Moshe had last week gone to Pharaoh and said uh told him to let the people go. Pharaoh not only refused to let the people go but said he would make it even harder for them. they would have to work even harder. And so Moshe go went back to Hashem to complain. And Hashem begins this week's portion by telling Moshe, I this week's portion by telling Moshe, I appeared to your forefathers and I have promised them that they would that I would give them this land, the promised land, and therefore you don't worry. I will take these people out of Egypt and give them the promised land. Some commentaries read it as Hashem telling Moshe, "Your forefathers were a lot better. I made promises to them and they had troubles in life and they never complained to me and you're already complaining. Uh then the Torah gives a little genealogy for Mosha Aron. Tells us who their parents were. Um their their parents were. Um their grandparents, they had a sister Miriam. So it gives [clears throat] us a little uh genealogy. And then the Torah continues to tell us, Hashem tells Moshe to go to Pharaoh. He comes to Pharaoh. Pharaoh says, "Show me a sign." Moshe throws his stick onto the ground and it hit turns into a according to Rashi a snake. Others say a crocodile and then he um and then um Pharaoh's magicians are able to do the same thing. They also throw their sticks on the ground. They turn into snakes. Um but then Mosha's stick
