0:00 And the main thing is joy - not to forget. 'And many of the peoples of the land became Jews' - what does this tell us? It tells us that we need to rejoice that we are Jews and can keep the mitzvos. There is no point in rejoicing if we do not guard our kedushah. What do we rejoice over on Purim?

0:25 Over the holiness of our Jewishness. Whoever merits to guard his kedushah and his Jewishness, he keeps the way of Hashem, to him it is fitting and to him it is proper that there be fulfilled in him: 'and rejoice with trembling.' That is why 'ra'ad', trembling, has the numerical value of Mordechai. Rejoicing? When do we rejoice on Purim? When we guard our kedushah, we feel the light of Mordechai the Jew. But a person who is, Heaven forbid, far from kedushah, far from the way of Hashem, far from the true purpose of Hashem, blessed be He, and he is sunk in darkened faces, in the depth of the great abyss, then he feels no life from the Torah and the mitzvos, because the serpent bit him, which is Haman the wicked - it bit him.

1:07 So there is laziness in him, sadness, despair, all these bad things. Heaviness - the bite of the serpent, which is Haman the wicked. But we merit, when we rejoice on Purim, we bring the elixir of life that heals - this antidote to the bite of the serpent. That is why we rejoice on Purim: by the power of joy we drive out of ourselves all this poison of the bite of the ancient serpent.

1:37 That is why Haman the wicked - the fact that he chased after Mordechai all the time - why was he so important to him? The whole world cheers you; you were a barber in Kfar Karzum for 22 years. You were not some great rich man from birth - you found treasures. Why do you care so much about Mordechai? What bothers you so much that Mordechai does not want to kneel and bow to you? But the serpent itself knows - all its life is that it wants to bring a person to despair.

2:07 This is the serpent, this is Haman. I explained to you that 'Rabbeinu Manoach' says this. In each and every one, there is both Mordechai and Haman. If you let despair make you despair and destroy you, and put in you thoughts that supposedly you will not succeed in getting out of anything, then, Heaven forbid, you are following Haman. And the opposite: if you know that there is hope, if you know that there is no despair in the world at all, you know that you will succeed in getting out of everything, you know that the Holy One, blessed be He, is with you and will not abandon you - whom are you listening to? To the voice of Mordechai. And that is why on Purim we rejoice. Why do we rejoice on Purim?

2:45 When we show the Holy One, blessed be He, that we incline our ear to listen to Mordechai and not the ear to listen to Haman - and this is the source of 'Haman's ears'.
