Remember him, welcome to another Wednesday night class in Hadar Lebanon. Avenue S, the corner of East 9th. We are learning Parashat Shemini and so happens to be that this Shabbat is also Parashat HaChodesh. The final parasha of the four parashiyot in the series starting with Shekalim, then we have Zachor, then we have Parah, which we read last week. The final one which we will read this week by Hashem is Parashat HaChodesh. Tonight we won't focus on Parashat HaChodesh, we'll focus more on Parashat Shemini. There is a Midrash in Tanhuma Siman Het, says the Midrash, "Shelosha devarim nitkasha Moshe." Moshe Rabbenu had a hard time understanding these three items. And they are Ma'aseh HaMenorah, VehaYareah, VehaSheratzim. Ma'aseh HaMenorah, how the Menorah, the candelabra in the Mishkan, how did it look like? VehaYareah, which means every single month we're supposed to make Birkat HaLevanah. At what uh at what uh size or how does the Levanah have to look like to make Birkat HaLevanah? Moshe Rabbenu didn't understand. VehaSheratzim, this week's parasha, the insects, the rodents, the non-kosher animals, Moshe Rabbenu had a hard time understanding the Halacha. And the Midrash goes step by step to explain to you how he had a hard time. Says the Midrash, "Ma'aseh HaMenorah Keitzad?" What is the meaning he had a hard time understanding the Menorah? Bisha'ah she'alah Moshe, when Moshe Rabbenu went up to Shamayim, Hayah HaKadosh Baruch Hu mareh lo bahar he'ach
