the yeshiva dotnet Oh [Music] oh dear [Music] to be able to ask any questions or dilemmas I have concerning Judaism if you could just put your cell phones on vibrate in the beginning of this year please I know I'm Jewish it's hard to listen to but if you could just do it anyway okay I'll start again dear rabbi Jacobsen I thank you for the opportunity to be able to ask my questions concerning Judaism in a relaxed and serene atmosphere without being judged and without being accused of having malicious motives I am a yeshiva student I've been learning in yeshiva for many years and I enjoy the learning very much I've learned many masters of Gomorrah many Talmudic tractates with their commentators I learned how much I learned halakhah I learned my far sham I learned Regina my her name I learned a lot of what Judaism presents to us there's something that has disturbed me greatly and I wish to bring it up with you and that is all of the limitations that halakhah Jewish law imposes upon the person together with very severe punishments and penalties if you read through hummus and you read through Matthias you read Gomorrah you discover the severe penalties and punishments that the terror imposes upon all types of things that don't seem that serious at all we're living in the 21st century how is a progressive open-minded normal person who cherishes freedom who cherishes democracy how can I learn this tire and really take it seriously how can I embrace it as the godly perspective and instruction manual for life as you like to say give me a break I eat an olive volume of horse meat or a particular piece of fat in a kosher animal and I receive 39 lashes because I ate an olive volume a Casillas of crab
