Welcome everyone. I got to have a good Shabbos Kodesh. We're preparing for Parshas Balak. We're continuing our series Smuchim Miyad explaining the juxtaposition of Parshas Balak to the end of Parshas Chukas. This year is dedicated by my dear friend Rabbi Jacobson L'ilui Nishmas Sarah Malkah bas Avraham. Her 10th Yahrzeit is this Sunday, the 13th of Tammuz. Sarah for her whole family. I'll be a S'gan Tzedek. We're coming live from Yerushalayim Kodesh. And we're going to put up on the screen the Mareh Makomos, Smuchim Miyad. Simply, on the simplest level, the Smichas haParshios is obvious. That's why the Baal haTurim doesn't comment anything. The end of Chukas we find Moshe killed uh Og and he conquered Sichon. And at the end of the Parsha it says they Klal Yisrael camped at Arvos Moav. So now that Klal Yisrael just uh successfully wiped out their enemies and now they're headed toward Moav. So Balak ben Tzippor saw everything Klal Yisrael did. Vayagar Moav, he's very scared and as the whole Parsha is uh goes on to relate. Now we could explain the juxtaposition of Parshas Balak to Parshas Chukas with uh by introducing another very fundamental question that we discussed recently. And that is the unusual matching and pairing of Parshas Chukas and Balak. Normally where the Parshas that are combined have a common theme. Like Vayakhel and Pekudei, Tazria and Metzora. But what's the connection between Parah Adumah and the story of Bil'am? It's an interesting it's an interesting combination of parshas. So, we explained Bilam wanted to curse Klal Yisrael
