Simchat Torah, 3 days of preparation for Kabbalat Torah. Chida writes amazingly that we know our calendar is a living calendar, which means that whatever transpired back in the day is re- stirred, is re-enacted. What the Chida calls choizer v'ne'ar with an aleph. The light shines again at this time of the year. So, the Chida says if 3,300 years ago, Klal Yisrael they came together in unity b'achdus. They came together with humility, with anavah. And they came to be able to understand the Torah, says the Chida quoting the Kadmonim, that there's no question that in these 3 days, the Ribono shel Olam taught Klal Yisrael secrets of the Torah in preparation for Kabbalat Torah. There is no question then, says the Chida, if in these days we gather together with achdus, with humility, trying to understand Torah, the Ribono shel Olam will be mashpia upon us great secrets of Torah. I want to begin this evening with a chiddush nifla, a lamdish chiddush, that is not specifically noge'a to the Yom Tov of Shavuos, but you'll see how it will apply to Shavuos. The chiddush is about Pesach. The chiddush comes from a sefer, not such a well-known sefer. The name of the sefer is Minchas So'eles. It's a commentary on the Rambam's Sefer Hamitzvos, Mitzvah chof aleph. The Minchas So'eles was written by the Av Beis Din of Dukla, the grandfather of Reb Pinchas Hirschprung. Reb Pinchas Hirschprung was a talmid of Chachmei Lublin. He was one of the great baki'im. He would humorously say, Reb Pinchas Hirschprung would say, you know, the Gemara discusses who's better, the Sinai or the Oiker Harim. The Sinai is someone with wide ranging bekius like a Haram is someone with probing analysis. The
