Shir Hashirim the Song of Songs, the greatest love song ever written by King Solomon. This is a book that is generally read in most communities on Pesach. When on Pesach? There are those who read it on the last days of Pesach. There are those who read it on Shabbos Chol Hamoed Pesach. There are those who read it after the Seder, Seder, the second night of Pesach. There are those who read it every Friday night before Kabbalat Shabbos. And as the Rebbe said that in truth, you could read Shir Hashirim all year long. Because the message of Shir Hashirim is so profound and so beautiful that it should and could be read at all times. The message of Shir Hashirim is the love The message of Shir Hashirim is the love between God and the Jewish people. It's a love like a husband and wife, k'chassan and kallah. And the entire Shir Hashirim speaks about this this amazing love that God has for the Jewish people and that the Jewish people have for Almighty God. The book of Shir Hashirim has 117 verses. And it has 18 chapters, rather eight chapters. chapters. Eight chapters. And the siman, the mnemonic for the book of Shir Hashirim is Asher diber tov al ha'melech, that he spoke good about the king. Because the entire book of Shir Hashirim is how we speak good about God and how God speaks good about us. The word tov, good, and al, he spoke good on the king, tov and al together equal 117. Toy is good equal 17.
