so let's begin very often parshas vaishev is the parsha which is read immediately preceding the yamtif of hanukkah and this year the way the calendar comes out partial is the parasha that we read on the amtif of chanaka so certainly parasha sayeshev will tell us a lot about the umpif of chanukah as it's the introduction as well as this year the parasha of shabbos chanaka so let's begin with a very interesting question that has been discussed by many authorities namely why is there no message dedicated to the amtif of chanukah chanukah is a um one of the longest human typhum of the year if not the longest i mean it rivals such as inaudible it is as long as the longest yamtif of the year and purim which is only one day has 30 blood in massachusetts so naturally we would expect that there would be a massachusetts at least 240 blot and lo and behold musa chanukah does not have 240 blot because masakanaka does not exist why in fact is there no masekta in chanaka all you have is a few blood and gemara you have halachus and the reshainim but it's not mentioned in the um now there are six references to chanukah in the mishnah i remember when i was in seventh grade the rebbe would give like uh special credit questions and one of the questions was where is hanukkah mentioned in the mishnah so we have here from the uh the seifer kamoitse shalom one mention is bikurim it says from sukhis until hanukkah you bring bikurim and your koire the parasha of bikurim by the way
