Tractate Gittim, Chapter 8, Mishna 1, says the Mishna: "If a man throws a get to his wife and she is inside her house or in her yard, she is banished. If he throws a get into his house or in his yard, even if he is in bed, she is not banished into her bed or into her daughter-in-law, she is banished here. In order to understand this Mishna well, one needs to know a few details. know a few details. First, one of the conditions for a get to be a get is that it must reach the woman's possession. It is written more than that in the Torah. It is written, "And he gave it in her hand," meaning that the get must be given to her literally in her hand. But the Sages accepted in the oral Torah that what is written, "And he gave it in her hand," is actually his, and " He gave it in her hand" means that it is sufficient in her possession. So He gave it in her hand" means that it is sufficient in her possession. So why does it say, "And he gave it to her?" After all, even when sages explain to me the Bible, which is not literal, they will still explain to me for what reason the Torah was written in this particular language and not another. So Chazal say that what is written is true and given in her hand, it is not literally, but it comes to teach us that where knowledge is, it is a place of preservation. Even any place of preservation is considered a hand,
