What’s said in this shiur

The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Daniel Glatstein’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.

The end of parshas Matos said as follows, Noivach went, he conquered Kena'an and its tributaries and he called her Noivach based on his name. The Sefer Yalkut Reuveini, which is a early collection of Midrashim, it's actually quoted in many of the Sifrei Chida, says the word la is rashei teivos. Vayikra la. La stands for lashon hara. Noivach teaches you that someone who speaks lashon hara is uh comes back in a gilgul as a barking dog. So let's say you're walking down the street and you're minding your own business, all of a sudden you see a barking, annoying dog. So what's the matter with this What's the matter with this dog? Why is he so irritated? Just It's not It's not the dog's fault, you see. The dog a few years before was sitting in a drasha and after the drasha the guy badmouthed the drasha. So he had to come back as a barking dog, you know. Don't hold it against him. That's just what happened. Anyway, um that's the concept. The concept is la. La stands for lashon hara. So I think it it um it flows beautifully into the beginning of Masei. Everybody knows Eileh Masei Bnei Yisrael. These are the travails, the journeys of the Bnei Yisrael, which is a remez to the galusim that we uh had to go in. We know the main cause of our current galus is lashon hara. The Gemara says in Yoma,
