there is a phrase which among people who think of themselves as intellectuals they say it in French which in English means to understand everything is to forgive everything I saw that this is attributed to Buddha apparently blae Pascal the great French mathematician and philosopher um said it to understand everything is to forgive everything now that's not obvious that's not obvious it's going to depend depend on what you think understanding is what kind of understanding you think understanding is I think that an idea like that builds in a very particular type of understanding and then the question will be whether that type of understanding is accurate is realistic or not oh let's take it stage by stage let's take a couple of examples of where coming to understand better anyway May inform how you look at something and may change your mind about how to look something how you look at something somebody does something quite destructive watching it hearing about it natural reaction is it's terrible then you find out that he had no idea that it would be destructive not only that but there was no way for him to know there's no way for him to suspect that would be destructive he's in a gun store and he's being he's wants to buy a gun so they hand him a gun and they say look feel the weight of it feel how it feels you know hold it up to your eyes see how it aims and and he does that and as he's doing that he pulls the trigger and a bullet flies out and kills somebody when you walk into a gun A gun
