The sicha we will be learning some of the >> [clears throat] >> sichas chelek alef the first sicha of parshas Kedoshim. Now the sicha talks about the possuk v'lifnei iveir lo sit michshol which means in front of a blind person don't put a stumbling block. But in order to understand the details some of the details of the sicha better I will first read the whole possuk because there are three parts of the possuk and what Rashi says in all three parts so to make it easier to understand the sicha even though the main part of the sicha is talking about the middle the sicha is talking about the middle part the possuk v'lifnei iveir. Let me read the possuk. The possuk says like this lo sikalel cheresh do not curse a deaf person. V'lifnei iveir lo sit michshol in the front of a blind person don't put a stumbling block. And then the possuk says v'yareisa me'elokecha Hashem you should be afraid of your God because I am Hashem. And Rashi comments on these three parts of the possuk each part separately Rashi says. Lo sikalel kalo cheresh don't curse a deaf person. Rashi says aliyah l'cheresh minayin l'rabos kol aliyah l'cheresh minayin l'rabos kol adam we would think only a a deaf person you can't curse. What about other people? Talmud lomar b'amcha Yisrael there's another possuk that says in a different place any person from your nation do not curse. So Rashi says why does it say here cheresh don't curse a deaf person to teach you that just like a deaf deaf person is alive even though he can't hear he's still can't curse somebody he's alive so to any other person the issur of cursing is only if he's alive but if he's not alive
