We know there's something called midah k'negidah. Means if a person did something wrong, he has to understand what he did wrong. He gets a punishment midah k'negidah. I'll give you an example. A person one day, he was drinking some hot coffee or hot tea or soup, and all of a sudden they realized the soup was too hot, his tongue got burnt. So, what is the mitzvah of it? You search your actions. Go through your deeds. See what you did that that's what happened. Why? Midah k'negidah. What did I do? Then you think, you know what it was? Maybe I spoke lashon hara.
