about this doing do we use this one is okay okay so the um the topic of this class is about changing halacha right there so in the in the previous classes um we discussed the various categories of the tereshi palpate of how we how we develop our halakhas the written terror obviously received derived legislative customs etc went through them in detail today we're going to talk about is changing is it possible to change which areas of allah might that be possible and if so uh how how is that actually done who and how can that be done so the learning exercise number one which is on page 156 ask you to just take a minute to um quickly go over the uh categories of the uh teresha balpair and whether you think it's uh possible should we have the ability to change the halachas in uh that belong to where these categories so just a minute for that so we start with a uh with a text uh from uh mission terror from the rambam uh about uh just the the the first most basic principle without the changing the halakhas of the torah so i'll read it in the english it is clear and explicit in the entire that its commandments remain forever without change diminishing or addiction as it stays you shall be careful to perform all these matters that i command as what god revealed to us is for us we are commanded to fulfill all the torah's directives forever it also says it is an everlasting statute for you all your generations so this is a pretty clear statement at least of the uh basic principle that uh all the middles of the torah are eternal and there can never be any change not in the direction of adding
