it's a beautiful Festival that we have this is a festival that has great philosophies we have to understand what is kanuka what is exactly the story of kanuka everybody knows the story more or less but we have to find the philosophy behind kanuka we understand that the story was as follows this happened around 2300 years ago when Jews were in the land of Israel all right but at the time the biggest empire in the world was the Syrian Greek Empire they were Greek Greeks mostly but it was known as the Syrian Greeks for the Greek syrians and they conquered the world at that time it was the rule was in the hands of uh Antiochus epifanis thei he was one of the generals of Alexander the Great Alexander the Great when he conquered the world he was a very good ruler only he was very young when he passed away but he did he was acquainted with the Jewish people he visited jerus when Alexander the Great came to Jerusalem as a conqueror instead of fighting Jerusalem they opened the Gates of Jerusalem and the delegation of priests Jewish kohanim led by Shimon hat sadik Shimon the righteous a high high priest a great man with the spirit of God in him so when they came out from they went to welcome Alexander the Great so a whole delegation coming towards the Army led by Alexander and his generals suddenly the generals who were riding with him they saw Alexander coming down of his horse going to the rabbi who was coming towards them and practically bowing to him in total respect the generals were mesmerized Alexander the Great the ruler of the world would go and prostrate
