The Gemara says, "Fortunate is a man who God has for Shalom afflict and whom you still teach your Torah." What does that mean to still teach your Torah? That afflictions are only afflictions of love when you're still able to study. Okay. And the other opinion says these are afflictions of love all those that do not involve neglect of prayer. Sometimes uh when you're going through difficulty, you can still pray to Hashem. That's a good difficulty. That's a difficulty of love. But if a That's a difficulty of love. But if a person is not able to pray, he's overwhelmed, he's lost in the world, not able to pray for salvation, or God forbid he's not conscious enough to pray. Right? [snorts] In such a situation, not considered an affliction of love. As it is stated, "Blessed is Blessed is God who has not turned away from my prayer or his loving kindness from me." What does that mean? That it gives me an opportunity to pray every day. Rabbi Abba, the son of Rabbi Hiyya bar Abba, said to them, "This is what Rabbi Hiyya bar Abba said in the name of Rabbi Yohanan. in the name of Rabbi Yohanan. Both these and those are considered afflictions of love, both. If you're able to pray and you're able to learn, both considered afflictions of love." As it is stated, "For Hashem rebukes the one he loves." What does that mean? >> He rebukes the one >> Why your voice got so deep? He rebukes the one he loves. We think, "Hashem, why are you doing this to me? I thought you loved me. By now I'm supposed to have another few zeros in the bank." Right?
