I was born in 1936 in Nuremberg, Germany, out of all places. My father became a Nazi very, very early on. >> Growing up in a home where your father is a Nazi [music] himself. What was that like? What did he say about Jews? My father never said anything about Jews, but he was the ruler of our house. He was the header of our house. Actually, my youngest sister and I, she actually prayed for my father not to come home from the war. She was so terrified of him, right? And then we were thinking of killing ourselves actually. >> How old were you when you >> Well, we probably around six. >> Could you tell us the story of how you met your husband? >> I didn't know anything until [music] after I met my husband to be who was a Holocaust survivor. His mother of course was very [music] against it. She was a survivor of Avitz. She was going to kill herself. How did the daughter of a Nazi, a family who respected Hitler, end up not only marrying a Jewish man, but converting and raising an Orthodox from Jewish family. This is Hannah's unbelievable tale.
