So, uh What does it mean that Yiftach HaGiladi, he was a mighty uh warrior, and he was the son of an Isha Zona? Means for real, Yiftach is a chashuve guy. His mother was a zona. Why why are we calling her zona? What does zona even mean? So, the Targum says she was a pundakis. Pundakis means she was an innkeeper. Okay, so why do I need to know her profession? Uh let's say she sold life insurance. It would have said of Yiftach HaGiladi, Ayah Gibor Chayil, Ben Isha Shemachar um Shmiras Chayav. You know, why why do I need to know her mother's profession? If zona means she was a pundakis, who could care less what her mother did? So, there's a very interesting Rabbeinu Bachya in parshas Masei. Most of you know, we very rarely get an opportunity to learn parshas Masei. Maybe maybe Matos, but Masei, know, forget it. And uh Rabbeinu Behaye and to know this possuk in Shoftim, the opening possuk of Haftorah, you need to know Rabbeinu Behaye in the beginning of Parshas at the end of Parshas Massa. It talks about a bas yoreshes nachala. Now, how could a bas be yoresh nachala?
