um and uh we don't necessarily understand it. Uh but this is the instructions the Torah gives us. So that is the first part of the para. We've previously done a class where we spoke about the paradum about this red cow in greater detail. Um then the Torah picks up um the story of Israel in the desert, but it moves forward. Um last week we had the story of Korak and his rebellion against Moses. Right afterwards we had the right before that we had the story the right before that we had the story of the spies and how they were at the edge of the promised land. They did not want to go into the land because of the spies came back saying the land was too um hard to conquer. Um and Hashem said as a result they're going to have to wander through the desert for for 40 years until that entire generation dies out. Now we fast forward 38 years and um we are um at the very end of their period in the desert. Um and um now at dur at this time um a year um now at dur at this time um a year before they're going to enter the promised land Miriam Mosha's sister dies. When Miriam dies they ran out of water. Torah doesn't say why they ran out of water but we know earlier in the Torah we were told that their source of water was coming from a rock that Moshe had hit sometime earlier. Hashem told Mosh, he ate the rock and water came out from the rock and apparently this rock moved with them wherever they went in the desert and that way they always had water, enough water to feed millions of people and their animals. And so um

  1. 3:06um and uh we don't necessarily understand it. Uh but this is the instructions the Torah
  2. 7:15as they're uh as they're traveling around um the people get um upset on the way
  3. 11:24capture of their fellow Amorite King Sikhon. And um Mo, Hashem tells Moshe not to be
