In the Rambam brings from the Mishna the in regards to vows that are made by a minor by a child. And this is what the Rambam says. Cotton a child of 12 years old or a girl of 11 years old that they made a shu an oath or a nether or a vow. We examine them. We check them. We ask if they know for whom sake they have made the nether. In other words, we want to make sure that they understand the significance of the vow and that they're vowing it for the sake of hashem. And if that's the case, then their vows are valid. If they don't know, then their vows and their words carry no significance whatsoever. The Rambam goes on and says that that whole year again the boy being 12 years old or the girl being 11 years old, we need to ask them, we need to check with them again and again. That means to say that even if they made a nether at the beginning of the year and we ask them and they clearly understand the concept of the nether and they know who they are making the vow for and their vow was a valid vow. In other words, we said that yes, it is a vow. If later on during the year they make another vow, we need to check with them again and only then is it considered a proper vow. We don't says the Rambam that just because they knew in the beginning of the year and understood the seriousness and the significance of the vow etc. We don't
