Tractate Sutta, Chapter 4, Mishnah 3, says that the Mishnah says that a woman who has intercourse with her friend and has cleansed her friend, has no wives and does not take a written vow. The words of Rabbi Meir and the sages say that it is possible to divorce her and return her after a period of time, if she is old and unfit to bear children, has no wives and does not take a written vow. Rabbi Eliezer says, Rabbi Eliezer says, they can marry another woman and have children from her. And all women either drink or do not take a ketubah. So here, gentlemen, this mishna continues the division of women. When are they entitled to write it, when are they not, and how it depends on the person's drinking of the Sutta. So here we are talking about something like this, one who passes his friend and cleans his friend. What is this about? We know that friend. What is this about? We know that according to the law, if a woman were pregnant and her husband died, then she was forbidden to marry someone else. Not only if she is pregnant, but even if she is breastfeeding. Meaning, they had a baby and six months later her husband died. So she is now forbidden from marrying anyone else until two years after the baby is born. It's called cleaning until two years after the baby is born. It's called cleaning your friend. What is the reason? The reason the sages ruled on this is because there is a fear that if she marries someone else now, that person will not properly care for the baby. And not only will he not take proper care of the baby, but he will also not let the baby's mother take proper care of the baby. That is, he will prevent her from giving it to him,
