goodness of shabbos everyone it's thursday night at the west mount shul and i'd like to talk about uh an unusual thing in this week's parsha and perhaps relate it a little bit to current events i know there have been earth-shattering events that have happened this week and i really have to digest these events a lot more before i speak directly to them this week we begin a new safer safer schmos schmos which is called the book of exile and redemption so there's certainly many messages about exile and redemption in this week's parsha let me share with you one incident that i think has a very powerful message we know when moshe rabeno was 20 years old he went out to see what was going on with the jewish people moshe had been raised in the palace he moshe had been raised in the palace he knew he was jewish but yet raised as an egyptian prince and he went to see what was going on and he goes out and he sees the horrific conditions that the jewish people are in that they have been a people who were free who were enslaved for many years suffering under back-breaking work and his heart went out for them he felt terrible for them terrible for them he wanted to help the plight of the jewish people and then he notices something very surprising to him at least he sees an egyptian task master beating up on a jew he looks around he does he doesn't see anybody what does it mean he doesn't see anybody he doesn't see anybody who finds this to
