At the beginning of the Parashat, we learn about the whole matter of a vow. A lot of people come to me and ask me. How can you solve this vow? I made a vow. I made a vow. And it really is a big mistake when a person makes a vow, especially when he doesn't know if he can keep that vow. And there are several times in stories where we've heard that people seem to get into really serious trouble because of a vow. So in general, it's not a good idea to make vows. In general, it's really something that can be done if a person, say, is trying to sanctify himself and he wants to rise in rank for some deed, himself and he wants to rise in rank for some deed, some thing that he wants to do, as if he knows that he has an evil inclination. So as if, say, he says, a person wants to study, say, two hours with a public fast, two hours with a speech fast, but he knows that he has disturbances. He has this.
