We are studying today parashat Tetzaveh. Our parashah is known for the continuation of the construction of the Mishkan and all of its vessels. Primarily, the parashah talks about the bigdei kehunah, the clothes that the kohanim wear, the begadim. But what our parashah is more known for is not what's written in it, but what's missing from it. There's something very conspicuously missing from parashat Tetzaveh. After reading a few pesukim, it becomes obvious. And that is the name of Moshe does not appear in the entire parashah. You shouldn't take what I'm saying lightly because from the time that Moshe Rabbenu was born in parashat Shemot, every parashah has his name in it. Shemot, Va'eira, Bo, Beshalach, Yitro, Mishpatim, Terumah, all of a sudden comes to parashat Tetzaveh, his name is missing. Normally, the pasuk would say "Vayedaber Adonai el Moshe lemor." And God spoke to Moses. And God spoke to Moses. Our parashah begins "Ve'atah." And you tell the people. It doesn't say his name. And the rabbis are struggling to understand why. Why should his name be missing from the parashah? They tell us that the answer to this question is in next week's parashah. After the Jewish people worship the golden calf, God came to Moshe Rabbenu very angry. God came to Moshe Rabbenu very angry. And God Almighty said, "I'm going to destroy the nation. They do not have the zechut to have an an existence. But Moshe, you have nothing to worry about. You will remain. And I will start a new nation, and you will lead the new nation."
