sister Danielle Shalom Ezra, incredibly special young woman tragically left this world and our learning is in her memory as well. We're continuing the story of Avraham Avinu. The great Avraham Avinu introduced so much to our world the father of all of us, the father of all of our people, the one whose footsteps we walk in, our great patriarch Avraham. We left off last week's Parsha. What happened at the end of last week's Parsha? Avraham is the ripe old age of 99. I could say that. If you're 99, you're probably already in bed. I couldn't say that if we were giving sheer in the morning, but the evening slot it's past the uh early bird special, you're probably already in bed. So it's a ripe old age. I think we can all say that fairly. Even the 99-year-olds would agree. He gave himself a bris at that age and he's outside recovering from the bris. And Hashem appears to him where? In the plains of Mamre. And he is sitting at the entrance of the tent during the heat of the day. We all know this. We've read it, we've heard it so many times our whole lives that Avraham Avinu, the great paradigm of chesed, the one who simply can't help but do loving kindness to others. It's more painful for him to not be helping others than it is even to be recovering from the surgery he did on himself without anesthesia at the age of 99. Benji, a tough surgery for someone to do on themselves? 99, little bit of a shaky hand, no anesthesia, a resident urologist, that's a tough and Avraham Avinu on the third day, the hardest day while recovering, every right to lie in bed, every right to be served chicken
