The Power of Tehillim in Chodesh Elul

that the minhag is every day of the weekdays uh from Rosh Chodesh Elul, after the tefillah, we say 10 chapters of Tehillim, the tzibur. And the objective is to try to finish Tehillim twice before Rosh Hashanah, which is the the numerical value of finishing Tehillim twice is kapper, 300, to be able to again atonement. So, this is a practice that is brought by the Mateh Efraim, is codified by the Mishna Berurah. The Kitzur Shulchan Aruch writes it Siman Kuf Kuf Ches, "Noyeg in loymar Tehillim b'tzibur b'chol makom l'fimei ha'gai." And Rav Chaim Kanievsky, zechuso yagen aleinu v'zecher tzaddik livracha, among his chiyuvim was that he would say one chapter of Tehillim a day, but comes Chodesh Elul, he would say 10 chapters a day to try to finish Tehillim twice. So, and then when Rosh Hashanah came, during Asseres Yemei Teshuvah, every day, he would finish the entire Tehillim. So, Tehillim has great capacity and great koach, especially in the for the realm of teshuvah. Rav Nachman of Breslov in Likutei Moharan Tinyana Siman Alef Ayin Gimel, he says, "Mi she'rotza liskos l'teshuvah, if somebody wants to be zocheh to teshuvah, ye'arogil b'amiras Tehillim." He should be accustomed to saying Tehillim. Tehillim is mesugal for teshuva. He even brings a remez. The sofei teivos is the eleh shemais bnei Yisrael habaim Mitzrayima ish Yaakov yeshu beisai bo. Ending with the word u'veisai, the sofei teivos are Tehillim, teshuva. Tehillim, teshuva. And Rav Nachman says, we see them the days of teshuva during the days of Elul and aseres yemei teshuva.
