[Music] hi we're back again to talk today again about this wonderful book the garden of gratitude by Rabbi Shalom Irish I think one of his best and we're now learning from chapter one actually which is the path to redemption you know everything that happened and happens to the Jewish people in a collective sense is also happening to each one of us individually so when the Torah talks about going out of Egypt for example that the Jewish people went out of Egypt which was the probably the single most important event that we need to be grateful for that we need to say thank you for we have to realize that this is also referring to an individual Redemption that each one of us needs to go out of from our own neuroses our own inner conflicts our own difficulties with self-esteem feeling inferior or those people that feel superior that know that they shouldn't be feeling superior and those people that don't know that they're feeling superior and need to know what their problem is all this is considered Egypt well this is considered a form of Exile Gullah s-- and the prescription of how to get out is here and in one word the solution is called being grateful being able to thank God for the many many kindnesses that he does for us every day all of the blessings that he gives us every day being able to acknowledge his loving-kindness his goodness not only with things that we can see that are obviously good but to thank
