Today's class is graciously dedicated by Dina Dornbush thanking the Rebbe for showing us the way back home with the help of his dedicated and inspiring shluchim. Thank you very much. Also dedicated [clears throat] to Aaron ben Sarah for a refuah shleimah and a refuah krovah, a complete and speedy recovery. We should be able to have him back in our men's classes. Not just virtually. At the end of parshas Balak, this week's portion, there is a very enigmatic and disturbing and intriguing and mysterious story. After Bilam, after Balak fails with his attempt to have Bilam Balaam curse the Jewish people, all the curses are transformed into blessings. And at this moment, there is so much positivity in the air, even the great enemy of the Jewish people, Balak, and the great enemy of the Jewish people, Bilam, all that could come out of his mouth are some of the most beautiful poetic praises in the most eloquent fashion on the virtues, the greatness of the past, present, and future of the Jewish people all the way to acharis hayomim. In fact, most of the prophecies on Mashiach come from the mouth of Bilam in parshas Balak. And right after that, chapter 25 of the book of Numbers, Bamidbar perek chof hei, which is the end of Balak, and you see it here, the Torah shifts to a very disturbing story. The Jewish people settled in a place called Shittim. This is in the Transjordan, the eastern side of the Jordan River, and the people begin to commit adultery with the women, with the daughters of the Moabite nation.
