Written by Rabbeinu Asher ben Yechiel, better known as the Rosh, Rabbeinu Asher. I may be just throwing over here. Um I had a talmid once. This happens often. That when I have a shiur, uh I teach Gemara, uh I tend to be uh I'm looking for the right word, obnoxious. The reason I do this is to irritate people. >> [laughter] >> And the reason I want to irritate people is so that they will be motivated to get me. Then they put in extra time learning cuz they want to catch me. Anyway, I said something in shiur and somebody says, uh "No, that's not right." And he says something else. I said, "Where'd you get that from?" He says, "The hagahah." I said, "The hagahah?" So he shows me. It's the hagahas Ashri in the Rosh. The hagahas. The hagahas Ashri. The hagahah? Uh needless to say I did not let that line go for the rest of the year. He he turned out to be a come a big time chacham. But to me he'll always be the hagahah. This work has been learned in the great yeshivas of the past and present and is used as a road map for avodas Hashem and personal growth. The new edition by oh, surprise, Yehuda Wenzerlberg has opened up this work and geared it to our generation and is filled with uplifting insights, practical guidance, and great stories that bring the Rosh's teaching into sharp focus for our lives today.
