good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the vulgar return now my name is ephraim goldberg i have the privilege of serving as one of the rabbis here and what an honor to welcome you all for an extraordinary evening to stand together in celebration of israel to advance and advocate for the u.s israel relationship to honor and to thank heroes of the united states israel and the jewish people like ambassador danley friedman who are here thank you so much for being here throughout the evening what an evening what a turnout what a crowd what a statement each and every one of you are making tonight by being here in the rain in challenging times confronting tension and you are here we are here united together as one to stand with israel [Applause] i want to begin by thanking and welcoming pastor mario gramneck and the latino coalition for israel many years ago [Applause] many years ago i met pastor bramnick we were both in the waiting room of a congresswoman's office waiting to meet with her and to lobby her on an issue he introduced himself i'm a rabbi he's a pastor i imagined we were there for very different reasons but when we compared notes and topics it turned out we were there to advance the very same course israel's safety and security i made a friend that day in that waiting room and has been a friend since and let me be unequivocally clear israel and the jewish community are fortunate to have the friendship of pastor mario bramneck the latino coalition for israel we have worked together several times since that original meeting never about religion never debating god or the bible always exclusively about israel the safety and security of our brothers and sisters there her right to
