0:03 In order to come to weeping and sorrow and pain, on this day one needs understanding. One needs understanding, to know what the Beis HaMikdash, the Holy Temple, is. One needs to understand the essence of the Beis HaMikdash, and of course we are not weeping over wood and stones, we are weeping over the deepest and closest connection to Hashem, blessed be He, that was cut off from us.
0:48 We know that Shmuel the prophet, Shmuel of Ramah, wherever he went, he would go with his tent everywhere, his house would go with him everywhere. He did not want to benefit from this world, from anyone. The essence of a dwelling, a house, every person who has a house - a person who has no land is not a person.
1:18 The whole essence of a house is so that a person's mind is at ease. There he arranges his belongings, there he occupies himself with his affairs, and from there he goes out and does all that he needs in the world. A wife, a home, furnishings, and through this he can do his service, to bring a livelihood to his home.
1:46 This is the essence of a house. Within the house, thank G-d, continuing to upright generations, sons and daughters, engaged in Torah and its mitzvos. The house is a symbol of a person's peace of mind, for if he has no land he is not a person. The house is a symbol of boundaries, of not letting anything in from outside, and inside, that even if the world is impure and distant, in my house there can be holiness, there can be purity; what is outside will not be inside.
2:21 This is what the boundaries of the house symbolize. A person who had a shared wall with idolatry, if this wall is destroyed, he may not build this wall again so that it becomes a house of idolatry again, but rather he must distance himself four cubits from it and build the wall again as at first. We see from here that the house house of a person is a symbol of boundaries, of keeping what is outside from entering inside.
2:49 We see this with Noah. Noah entered the ark when the whole world was flood and the whole world was destroyed and the whole world was in sin and wickedness and robbery and violence and Noah fled to the ark. Noah fled from the [unclear] and everything that was outside did not affect him. He knew how to disconnect and knew how to flee from everything in this world.

3:19 When we explain what a house is, we mean to explain that what is outside This is a hint to teach us also that the true essence of every place where a person is, is in order to continue his mind, his way in the world.
3:59 This is really a hint to a house, to explaining what a house is, the meaning of a dwelling, what the connection of a house is, what its context is in the world. And according to this the world will understand what the essence of the Beis HaMikdash is. When we want to explain what the Beis HaMikdash is, it is the same thing. The Beis HaMikdash is a place where what is outside does not apply inside.
4:26 Where the whole world is distant, this place will be the holiest. If in the whole world there is no revelation, in this place there will be revelation. If the whole world is distant, in this place there will be closeness. If the whole world is defiled, this place will be pure. This symbol of the Beis HaMikdash is to teach and to awaken all creatures that this place, to it one must go up, before Hashem one must appear, this is the symbol, the bond between the Creator and the created beings.
5:03 The closeness to Hashem, blessed be He, when the Beis HaMikdash stood, was at the highest and loftiest level that any human being could attain. A person would stay overnight in Jerusalem without sin. A person had no sins, a person had no transgressions, a person had no offenses. The mercy of Hashem, the offerings that were offered on the altar, the atonement would rise upward, even the air above the altar would atone.
5:32 We see that the closer we were to Jerusalem and to the Beis HaMikdash, the [unclear] would be revealed in the world. When we come to explain what the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash is, one must understand that the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash is that all the partitions would be closed, and what is impure outside is also impure inside, what became distant outside, there is no place to fence it in, there are no more boundaries, no more safeguards, there is no holy place to flee to, there is no way to be atoned for, nothing that works to connect us to Hashem, blessed be He, like the Beis HaMikdash.
6:15 When we mourn for the Beis HaMikdash and we understand what this day is on which the Beis HaMikdash was destroyed, one must understand that the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash is the root of all the troubles and all the pain and all the disasters in the world, and it stems from the pain and the [unclear] of the Beis HaMikdash. The Beis HaMikdash is true knowledge and the knowledge of the redemption.
6:42 The Beis HaMikdash is really knowledge, it is knowing Hashem. Hashem, blessed be He, gave in the world His house [unclear] that in its time when it dwelled in Shiloh, and before there was the Beis HaMikdash. The purpose is, "And they shall make Me a Sanctuary and I will dwell among them." It does not say "within it" but "within them." The meaning is the connection, that Hashem, blessed be He, dwells among us.
7:08 As time passes, instead of understanding that we ourselves are the Beis HaMikdash, the Jewish people itself is the Sanctuary, it is the Mishkan. And we would improve our traits and our ways and remove hatred from among us, understanding that we are all one, truly loving one another and not dividing between one and another and not [unclear] one about another, or we would understand this in complete perfection, Then we would actually continue the revelation in the true purity of the Beis HaMikdash in the world.
7:46 And therefore there cannot be meaning and existence for the Beis HaMikdash if the safeguards and boundaries that are outside the Beis HaMikdash burst inward. Therefore there was always first the breaking of the walls, that the walls were broken, the 17th of Tammuz and the First Temple and the 17th of Tammuz, we understand that both the First Temple and the Second Temple were destroyed on the Ninth of Av.
8:11 That is to tell us that first the walls of Jerusalem were breached, The hint here for us is the walls, that we should understand what our boundaries are, that we have breached all these walls, and of course the Beis HaMikdash itself goes up in flames to the heart of the heavens, that is our heart and our mind. When we are really mourning the Beis HaMikdash, we are mourning the knowledge that we lost.
8:39 Therefore we cannot engage in Torah on this day. It is not possible to learn Torah on this day, because the Torah is knowledge. The Torah is connection with Hashem, blessed be He. And on this day we are not given to connection with Hashem, and on this day we cannot know Hashem. Because we have no knowledge, we have nothing with which to seek Him, blessed be He. The only way is to weep over the Beis HaMikdash. And only this is what Hashem, blessed be He, wants us to engage in; He does not want us to learn Torah.
9:05 Because the Torah would bring us to joy, and the joy would [unclear] from us the meaning of why we arrived at this place. And therefore this day is once a year so that a person gives his mind to his true purpose, to understand what he came into this world to seek. If we came into this world and we are on Tisha B'Av and we understand the meaning of the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash, this means that everything in the world that you see is destroyed, its root is from the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash.
9:41 Every baseless hatred that exists, every war that exists, every bloodshed, every murder, every loss, every [unclear] in the world, all the disturbances, all the disasters, all the [unclear], all the threats, all the wars, stems from the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash. And the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash came from the safeguards and the boundaries that were breached for us, from the baseless hatred that went wrong in us, which is actually, the Sages taught us in Tractate Yoma, page 9b, that this is actually the meaning of the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash. If we had immorality, bloodshed and idolatry, the First Temple, the Second Temple, which to this day has not been rebuilt, was because of this baseless hatred.
10:30 This baseless hatred is a fire that goes and flares up and goes around from one in the world. It inflames all the hearts without actually Therefore it burns every moment. The more we uproot this hatred from among us and become truly genuine, there will be meaning as you see, even in the time when the Beis HaMikdash was standing on its foundation, before the Beis HaMikdash began to show signs of destruction, or to be close to some destruction, everyone saw how the dispute between the thugs and the Sages, between those holy ones, between those poor, the purchase of the priesthood, Martha, daughter of Beitus, all the nobles of Jerusalem, Nakdimon ben Gurion, Kalba Savua, Ben Kasisis, again disputes and classes between rich and poor, between Sages and thugs, these dispute with those, these hate those, these do not listen to those,
11:40 and so slowly, slowly, slowly there cracked and cracked and cracked the foundations and the walls of "And they shall make Me a Sanctuary and I will dwell among them," that they should be one Jewish people, and so each one wanted to go after his own mind, after his own opinion, he knows what to do in the world. And so slowly the Beis HaMikdash was destroyed. For if we had gone after one opinion, after every one, the Beis HaMikdash would not have been destroyed. The Beis HaMikdash comes from perfection of knowledge, from true knowledge, from one knowledge, from knowing Hashem, blessed be He.
12:15 We expect every day that Mashiach will come and the Beis HaMikdash will be built. If you look, we find this thing twice, that truly the connection between them is something as different as heaven and earth. When Haman the wicked wanted to cast the Pur, the lot, he specifically [unclear] [unclear] specifically in the month of Adar when Moshe Rabbeinu passed away.
12:44 But he did not know that this is also actually the [unclear] of Moshe Rabbeinu and the birth of Moshe Rabbeinu and the salvation of the Jewish people, he did not know to understand between birth and passing. He did not know to understand the distinction, that actually there is never a passing away. Yaakov Avinu is learning. Sages are always alive, their Torah is always alive. They never pass away and never leave this world, they always remain in this world.
13:10 And therefore he had the confidence to make specifically this decree of religious persecution, specifically in this holy [unclear], so that he would have some support to speak. And we see a tremendous kindness of Hashem from His words, that Mashiach was born specifically on Tisha B'Av, was not born at any other time of the year, was born on Tisha B'Av. And actually we see the variant texts in the Yerushalmi, Berachos, chapter 4, and in Bereishis Rabbasi, Parashas [unclear], where actually the variant texts also show that indeed Mashiach was born on Tisha B'Av.
13:49 But according to our teacher the Maharal of Prague, who explains that the intention is not a literal birth, emotional, that Mashiach is truly born on Tisha B'Av, but rather the intention is the revelation of the light of Mashiach is born on Tisha B'Av. And therefore Hashem always gives us the possibility to emerge from all darkness and from every [unclear] and from every [unclear]. The question is how we incline our ear and hear and hear and understand the [unclear] of Hashem, blessed be upon us, to take us out from darkness to light.
14:22 To understand that we are now in the aftermath of [unclear], [unclear] if there is no one to comfort her, we must feel the same thing. The pain is much greater. We are 1956 years from the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash, and not prophets, [unclear] all the madness in the world, all the distance in the world, the truth is absent, we see falsehood and darkness, formless and void and darkness upon the face of the deep, and we have no one to lean on except our Father in Heaven, we do not know on whom to lean except Hashem, blessed be He.
14:56 And everyone tries to devise plans, to do all kinds of actions that each one thinks he knows about the greatness of Hashem, or what will bring the redemption, or how to bring the Beis HaMikdash, and all of it is actually a matter that is a great secret before Hashem, that no one knows how to bring the redemption and what to do to bring the redemption. The only way that one can hold on to is only through true love, true baseless love. [unclear] true unity, true prayer to Hashem, true baseless love, to drive baseless hatred out of the world, to feel that everyone will feel as one people, that the world should stop thinking only of my father, my mother, my sons, my daughters, each one thinks only about his own head, to succeed in feeling the seed of Israel, all one, one, one.
15:45 To feel that all are one, the whole Jewish people, this is true love, true love of the Jewish people, to care about the true and eternal path of the whole Jewish people, to feel together the true path of Hashem, blessed be He, to feel that we are - understand our true purpose in this world, for what we are tilting the world. Heaven forbid, Mashiach will not come and time will pass. What do we do? Every tzaddik must do [unclear] to turn the world over in order to change the minds of the creatures, that their opinion will change.
16:16 To arrive at the way of baseless love is not that people speak good things like this, it is hugging and kissing one another, and so they speak well and by this they think they are lovers of baseless love. Baseless love is to look into the inner dimension that what Hashem, blessed be He, does in the world is the will of Hashem. Baseless love is not called by this, that a person exchanged with his friend. Baseless love is that a person knows and understands that everything Hashem, blessed be He, does in the world is the will of the Creator, blessed be He.
16:47 And therefore I have no reason to hate this, nor to [unclear] nor to provoke about it, because everything is His will, blessed be He. And this is actually the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash; that we mourn today for the Beis HaMikdash, we are mourning for bad traits, mourning the knowledge that left us, how we did not see those luminaries who woke us who lit the way for us, all the [unclear], all the generations, how to look, how to emerge from the darkness, how to go after the truth, what the absolute truth is before Hashem, blessed be He.
17:18 We went after our own intellect, which is [unclear] and so the Beis HaMikdash is regarded. One must always know that the true Beis HaMikdash, the Beis HaMikdash that stood and everyone saw it, and all the offerings, and all the priests, and all the Levites, and all the miracles that were done in the Beis HaMikdash, and everything we ask that Hashem, blessed be He, return to Zion, it is so that the kingship of Hashem will be revealed and be seen among all creatures, the glory of the Jewish people, the true truth, the true unity, the true joy that was in this people, the tremendous and infinite power, the revelation that Hashem, blessed be He, the King of kings is with us and [unclear] us.
17:58 This is the meaning of the Beis HaMikdash, and this is the meaning of understanding what the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash is, that we mourn the distance from Hashem, over the vessels that broke for us, that we do not have these vessels, we do not have the ability to come and connect back except through the holy Torah. And therefore, because Hashem, blessed be He, knows that specifically on this day, this day, which is Tisha B'Av, the day on which our Beis HaMikdash and our glory were destroyed, specifically on this day we are forbidden to study Torah, so that we do not forget how we can repair the essence of that time in which the Beis HaMikdash was destroyed, and that each one should take up ideas and strategies and think in his mind truly how he changes himself.
18:44 And a person will understand that he himself is the Beis HaMikdash, and each one must feel that he himself is the Beis HaMikdash and for him the world was created and through him we will be redeemed and the redemption depends on him. He must find everything within his ability in order to gird his loins and be a worthy vessel to receive the revelation of the Shechinah and to return to Hashem, blessed be He, all the creatures and take up ideas and strategies for how to build the Beis HaMikdash and think with great wisdom how the Beis HaMikdash will be built.
19:11 There are many ways, many plans for how the Beis HaMikdash will be built. And if in every generation we had listened to those holy Sages and [unclear] in every generation that we had, who guided us and gave us luminaries on how to draw close to Hashem, how to build the Beis HaMikdash, this was a strategy throughout the year. Throughout the whole year, at midnight there sparkles and shines for him the light from within those 24 hours.
19:42 [unclear] of these hours of this day, of Tisha B'Av, is divided throughout the year into all kinds of parts, and every day shines a little from that time, at midnight. that a person must be alone like on Tisha B'Av with his Maker and weep over the Beis HaMikdash. And over what will he weep? He weeps over his bad traits, he weeps over the flaw in his faith in Hashem, blessed be He, over the flaw in his trust, how he did not truly see what Hashem does in the world, how he was at all jealous of something in this world, how he did not see that everything is a revelation of G-dliness, how he did not see that Hashem, blessed be He, stands behind everything, how he hated so-and-so, how he hated such-and-such, why did I hate this one, why did I hate that one,
20:24 why did I increase [unclear] for nothing, for no reason in a place that is the holiest and purest, why did they give, we have no [unclear], not the Greeks and not Titus and not Nebuchadnezzar and not Sennacherib and no [unclear] in the world could ever overcome the Jewish people. Rather we actually want, we destroy with our own hands the walls, the walls, all the towers, all the ramps, all the purities in our heart, in our thought.
20:52 The thought of the Jewish people, from the heart of the Jewish people, these are the tools and the greatest weapon in the world. The heart of a Jew who has compassion and mercy, does charity and kindness, and does what is good and upright before Hashem, [unclear] "and you shall do what is good and upright before Hashem your G-d." Each one was always beloved before Hashem, all the kings, Chizkiyahu, all of them walked and did what is good and upright before Hashem and there was importance before Hashem, blessed be He, when they did what is good and upright in His eyes.
21:23 And with intellect and mind they used it to dispel all the problems of the Jewish people. For this a person has a mind and heart, to use it for a lofty purpose. When we took these tools and took the mind and took the heart, we used them to dig "broken cisterns that cannot hold water," and people use their intellect, exchange it for filthy places, and their heart loves foreign loves, this is called the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash.
21:52 This is called the destroyed Beis HaMikdash, and it is not possible truly to understand what the Beis HaMikdash is, and after that to weep over it, because the heart becomes [unclear] through a sealed [unclear]. A person cannot [unclear] the greatness of Hashem. Only one who can [unclear] the greatness of the Creator, blessed be He, can at all understand a little what the Beis HaMikdash is, what was written for us, what we lost, what we forfeited, for what we have to go in this world, what is the true purpose [unclear] of this world, what is man, the whole purpose in this world.
22:18 What is the purpose in this world? This whole world is one big vanity of vanities. The whole world is vanity. All that this person has is again knowledge in this world, and so that he will [unclear] with his wisdom all the counsels and understandings and wisdom in the world, how to gird his loins and how he turns this world over and how he builds the Beis HaMikdash. Not for nothing the Rambam at the end of Hilchos Melachim, the Rambam counts that at that time there is no war, no [unclear], because the earth is [full of] the knowledge of Hashem, but on Mashiach, on the redemption.
22:52 The ways are to build the Temple itself. That is, we will need to have here the building of the Beis HaMikdash, we will need to see here in actuality the level of Hashem's kingship, in the Keren Yisrael. The level of Keren Yisrael is the true, complete, whole and eternal goal, that each and every one must look forward to and be worthy of. And when we are alone on this day with the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash, we understand that this is beyond what was destroyed for us, and beyond what we see and weep over, not over the wood and the stones, but over this distance But what we can know and count on always, always, that the very thought and preparation that each and every one has, that you will remember what I said today and think about it every time,
23:50 whether on Tisha B'Av, whether at Tikkun Chatzos, and it will give you a great deal of strength, and it will give you a great many tools, and we will know Hashem and draw close to Hashem, and it will give you a great deal of influence and insight and knowledge and true contemplation of what [unclear] truly is. When we say [unclear] in the Beis HaMikdash, and at that time, that day which is capable of calamity, that day of the dominion of [unclear], was each time, in every time, at that time there is actually depicted a certain tikkun of the Jewish people, such as eating, drinking, joy, pleasure, that a person must refrain from these things at those times when they are forbidden and be permitted in them specifically in matters of joy, for example on Rosh Hashanah.
24:43 Always, Rosh Hashanah has joy and a meal and joyful and Sukkos, in good joy, on Shabbos days. On Yom Kippur it is forbidden to eat. One never eats, one never drinks on Yom Kippur. That is, that day is a day on which eating and drinking are forbidden. So on that day no tikkun of the desire to eat is carried out, of drinking and anything that needs to rise upward, nothing is carried out on this day.
25:13 And so Tisha B'Av. Tisha B'Av too, on that day it is sealed and no tikkun of eating is carried out in it, of [unclear] anything, nothing, there is nothing of ascent in it. Therefore just as it is closed above, so too we here below are [unclear] in that we cannot eat and drink, because this is actually the eating of [unclear] who eats from this thing. Whoever gives food on Tisha B'Av, Heaven forbid, gives strength to those angels, to those destroyers, and from this they have their disturbances and their power in the world.
25:47 And therefore always contemplate that at this time when they do not have the... when they have the dominion and the [unclear], and we actually, what we do, we do not eat and drink so that their and the strength and the ability to come against us, and we actually humble ourselves. The main thought and the fast, the fast actually is repentance, as the Rambam explains that true repentance is fasting.
26:14 In the very fact that we fast, we are already doing teshuvah before Hashem, but the true teshuvah must be that I understand the meaning of the deep root of this day, which is a day of very great pain, from the sin of the spies, in the First Temple, in the Second Temple, all the disturbances that were done on this day, in the pain that was done in their [unclear], we must be silent "And Aharon was silent," and try to incline the ear and hear the voices of the joy that burst forth specifically from this day, the voices of rejoicing, the voices of the birth of Mashiach.
26:55 And that Mashiach was born specifically on Tisha B'Av, this is the hint that comes to teach us. On the one hand we must block our ears, not to hear the voices of the world, not to hear all the deficiencies of the world, all the [unclear] of the world. all the destructions of the world. Knowing that the true destruction is the destruction of the mind and the heart. And on the other hand we must hear what the intention is for the birth of Mashiach.
27:19 The birth of Mashiach, the world interprets it as expecting that the redeemer will come and redeem us. This is certain, with the help of Hashem we will merit comfort. But the intention is that we expect Mashiach is born on Tisha B'Av. Mashiach is knowledge. Knowledge is born on Tisha B'Av. On Tisha B'Av, the day on which knowledge was destroyed, the day the luminaries were destroyed, the day the Beis HaMikdash was destroyed, and no one can explain to us what to examine, what to attach to, how we appear, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-six years of exile.
27:52 On this very day began to incline the ear, to hear how exactly on that same day a voice was born, the voice of Mashiach was born, that little baby born to the mother, about whom [unclear] he saw his clothes, the voice of the blood and the sorrow, and a cold wind came and took him. All this pain, all that passed over her, that for the [unclear] of the passing away, he vanished and was snatched from him, he left him.
28:20 This voice [unclear], what did it come to teach us? If it came at all? What is the hint in it? What is the voice of this in that? It all comes to teach us that we must always listen, even in the midst of the darkness and the pain and the worst concealment there is in the world, which is the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash, a place from which one cannot get out. Darkness upon the face of the deep, a fire burning to the heart of the heavens, voices of horses, of spears, of battles, horses, Titus the wicked, all the army of the Romans, Nebuchadnezzar the wicked, all the wicked generations that there were, we hear their voice, their smoke, to this day in Jerusalem.
29:01 To this day in the Beis HaMikdash it burns to the heart of the heavens, the voices and the horses and the voices of joy of the Romans and their cheers and the horses, the spears and the swords and the blood and the pain and the screams are heard to this day. To this day this impression has not left this place, this impression is here until now. This fire does not cease, there is a fire, always [unclear] on the [unclear], it will not be extinguished.
29:28 The fire of the arrangement still exists, but who feels it. There are also the [unclear], the luminaries, this is the fire of the arrangement, and that fire that destroyed, destroyed the Sanctuary and the Shechinah went into exile from [unclear] this is actually the house of Hashem, and that we actually incline our ear to hear from within all these voices, from within all this darkness and from within all these walls above, incline the ear to hear, to know that everything is possible, and always remember why we reached this state.
30:04 The contemplation and our obligation, the Kinos are supposed to bring us to the absolute change of removing evil and its absolute nullification, and gratitude and its absolute establishment, and turn from evil and do good, without any change. This is the meaning; over this we must weep and pray and hope and look forward and [unclear] Hashem, blessed be He, will have mercy on us.
30:30 [unclear] that Hashem, blessed be He, will give each one hope. Amen. Always incline the ear, we will remember that there is always hope to emerge from everything in the world, and Hashem, blessed be He, will not abandon us and [unclear] and [unclear] the covenant of our fathers. Amen. May Hashem, blessed be He, [unclear] us the complete redemption. Amen. [unclear] all that is in our ability to bring the redemption. Amen. [unclear] the Jewish people, [unclear] each one of us desires Hashem, blessed be He, the redemption [unclear] the Jews who sit and pray and look forward on this day and are pained about His house, blessed be He, Master of the World, to atone for a person on Tisha B'Av, and its merit [unclear] know that all the iniquities, all the transgressions, all the sins are forgiven; these afflictions repair all the reincarnations; everything that is hard for a person on Tisha B'Av and he examines his body and it is hard for him
31:22 and he sits on the ground and he is pained and brings upon himself immeasurably many good things and all the delicacies of the world will reach him and all abundance comes to him and also all kinds of blessings and influences, lights are shed on a person from this day; this day is the secret that Mashiach was born, that all salvations and influences and blessings come, and there is merit in every moment, and [unclear] sit; all that one asks is a time of favor, more than the closing prayer of Yom Kippur.
31:56 And so pray, with the help of Hashem, with intention, and everything you are seeking, each one that Hashem, blessed be He, [unclear] all of us that we may truly merit to true knowledge and to build the Beis HaMikdash and to return to Hashem, blessed be He, and to bring back to Hashem, blessed be He, and that Hashem, blessed be He, will rule over us alone with a mighty hand and [unclear] the covenant of our fathers and will build for us His house, blessed be He, the Beis HaMikdash We will remember, with the help of Hashem, all of us to go up to Jerusalem and to use all our strengths and all our tools to do all that we have spoken, so that Hashem, blessed be He, will have nachas ruach, with the help of Hashem.
33:34 [unclear] Stand there and pray facing the holiest place in the world.
