the very holy and magnificent day for Am Israel like the day of Lag B'Omer. Let's review first a couple of halachot that many are asking and also we discuss certain insights about this upcoming day that always is celebrated with great joy for all of Am Israel. So the basic halacha is that we increase in some level of happiness during the day of Lag B'omer and therefore we do not say Anna, we don't say Tachanun. That means that this Tuesday morning we do not say Tachanun, we will say Yehi Shem. But interesting enough that because Lag B'omer carries a certain rabbinical power so the halacha is that we do we do not say Tachanun on Monday afternoon. That means if Lag B'omer is Monday night Mincha, we don't say Anna, we say Yehi Shem and obviously all day long Tuesday. Now why there is such a celebration when it comes to this day. So the basic halachic answer is because two main events happened that day, maybe three even. One of them that according to most opinions the students of Rabbi Akiva stopped dying. We remember the famous Gemara in Yevamot that says that Rebbe Akiva had 12,000 talmidot, and regrettably, they perished in this period of time. That's number one. Number two, that was the day of passing of Rebbe Shimon bar Yochai, which the essence of the Zohar and Kabbalah in the Jewish world is attributed to. In a side note, according to some very deep Kabbalistic opinions, Rebbe Shimon bar Yochai revealed to the world the hidden aspect of the Torah, and Rebbe Shimon bar Yochai carried a nitzot, like a spark of the neshama of Moshe Rabbenu alav hashalom.
