[Music] today we will be discussing gender roles in Judaism and I believe you'll find it to be a fascinating topic first of all first of all it's important to understand that everything in creation is male and female every single thing in creation there's nothing you can look at nothing that's happening all around you that is not male and female now I don't want to use their imaginations too much but the whole creation is male and female there are male females they're males and females in this room listening to this class the shelves are being held up via male and female there's pegs holding those things shelves up this building's all things shelves up this building's all being held up by an entire engineering Network that's holding you up high above the kotel plaza it's all made of male and female in fact there's nothing you will look at that isn't somehow male and female relating and so too the Torah is very much relating in male and female for example the six days of the week are connected to the letter of which is the number six the letter above okay and that's called above in Hebrew and it that's called above in Hebrew and it equals six okay and that relates to the six days of creation which are the six days that we do our thing and do our work and make our difference in the world and the seventh day which is the Zion okay in the Zion which is uh that's the letter Zion and it is the number seven and the number seven represents the feminine or the receiving time of work
