So, we are continuing our study of the Rambam, the laws of the fundamentals of the Torah. I'm choosing out certain portions I think you'll find interesting and are very important for us to know. Here the Rambam is talking about one of the commandments of the 613 laws that the Torah tells us to 613 laws that the Torah tells us to uh beam for us to fulfill. And one of the 248 do mitzvah positive ones is God tells us that he wants to be sanctified in the midst of the Jewish nation. The question is what does he mean by that? He wants to be sanctified. It sounds like a nice It sounds like a nice philosophical terminology. But what does it mean actually? I shall be sanctified kadesh. I should be made holy in the midst of the Jewish people. And then we come to a another p right afterwards which is a followup of that mitzvah. is one of the 365 don't mitzvah and you should not profane my mitzvah and you should not profane my holy name. You should sanctify me and not make me ken cheap. Put it down in a very simple term profane. What is this referring to? So the Rambam is going to tell us that this mitzvah has three parts to it. And we'll start now with the first part. The Rama tells us part. The Rama tells us Israel. The whole household of the Jewish people, everybody. We're all commanded to sanctify God's great name. Shar brings the passage in the Torah that I just quoted before. I should be sanctified in the midst of the Jewish people. And we are commanded and warned not to profane
