Okay, good afternoon. Happy Kaneka. And since it's Kaneka, we're going to continue to talk about Kaneka. Um, living with light with Kaneka. So, I want to discuss three topics today of things we do on Kaneka. One just relates to lighting the manora again, which we spoke about a bit last week. Um the other relates to the custom to eat donuts and the third relates to the donuts and the third relates to the custom of the drrele. So so we mentioned last week and uh and when it comes to the mitzvah the rabbitic commandment of lighting the minora. So the way that it was established was um each each person and their household which means that the basic mitzvah is that every household just needs one light every day. And then if you want to do mahaj during the higher level you do do mahaj during the higher level you do one light per person each day and the highest is to go up one to eight according to basel which is the position that we accept. But the idea that in the first place it's it's a mitzvah in the household is something that we should reflect on because the whole idea of lighting the monora as discussed in the early sources is pure suanis publicizing the miracle. the miracle. So perhaps it would be better to light the minora in public places and some people do that but that's not the actual mitzvah. The mitzvah there's no requirement to do that. There's different opinions about whether you can make a braha when you do it that way. Those who do obviously take the position that you could, but uh but the the main mitzvah was that you should light the manora in your house and and it's not a public joint effort. You know, contrast
