Greetings to all viewers and everyone present. May God bless you and may you live. This week's parashat, Parashat Ki Titze, opens with the subject of a woman of good looks, and it actually opens with the words that she will go out to war against Oy. And the moral sages wrote, each in his own way, that this war described here is not just a matter of one nation's war against its society, but also of one nation's war against its society, but also of man's war against his passions. For example, the Holy Prophet writes: Here are two types of [snorting contempt] battle and war: one is a war of one man against another, kingdom against kingdom, for nation will lift up its sword against nation. This is the war that is simply described here, for you will go out to war against your enemy. Second, the war of an old and foolish king with a poor and wise child. Who is the king with a poor and wise child. Who is the Holy Prophet referring to here? So in his words here he alludes to writing in Ecclesiastes chapter 4, a verse that we will look at a little more in the future, with God's help. It is written that a poor and wise child is better than an old and foolish king. There, Rashi wrote in light of the words of the Sages that a poor and wise child is a parable for the good instinct. While the king is old and foolish and embodies the evil inclination.
