You Need To Serve Hashem More Than Your Friend Because You Get It - The View of the Chofetz Chaim

What’s said in this shiur

The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Daniel Glatstein’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.

Progress. Okay, good morning friends. Sayfer Chofetz Chaim al haTorah Parshas Metzora. The im dal hu ve'ein yado massegas, if a guy is poor, he can't afford the korban. Says the Mishna says the Chofetz Chaim yesh sham anashim shelo mispalelim k'minchas anashim ki im om nam einam yotzim korai. There's some people they learn and they daven and they think even though they're not doing it properly, yeah, they come halfway through P'sukei D'Zimra. Aval halacha b'reish Mosheh miSinai einam magi'im afilu l'madreigas am zu. But they're already rabbonim shekol Yisrael k'dei hagolah because their neighbor doesn't even come to shul. Many people stack themselves up against people who do less than them. Says the Chofetz Chaim om nam na'alim mehem ki heim ashirim b'da'as v'chavrei'hem ushcheinai'hem ani'im b'da'as. Here's the difference. They get it, their friends don't get it.
