Hi, it's Rabbi Laskin with that question and answer series. What if you hate sitting in the sukkah? Are you failing Sukkot? I guess what what he means by saying uh are you failing Sukkot, meaning are you not really fulfilling uh the mitzvah properly? Well, of course, even though it's a mitzvah of simcha, you have to do all of your mitzvahs with simcha. Um the Maharal says the only s'char or you get Maharal says the only s'char or you get for a mitzvah is because of the zrizus of the mitzvah. So, if you hate it, let me put it this way. Given a choice between doing the mitzvah of sukkah and hating it and not doing the mitzvah of sukkah, should you do the mitzvah of sukkah? Yes, you should. Should you do the mitzvah of sukkah and hate it? No, absolutely not. Obviously, that's uh a mitzvah should be something delightful. So, the first thing I say is um it's ratzon Hashem.
